Former Vietnam National Team Coach Admits Indonesian Team Superior in Quality

tvOnenews.com – The former Vietnam national team coach, Philippe Troussier, admitted that the quality of The Golden Star is now far behind compared to the Indonesian national team.

Troussier suffered the bitter pill three times when he met the Indonesian national team in 2024. This does not include the meeting at U-22 level against Indra Sjafri’s team at the 2023 SEA Games.

The Vietnam national team lost 0-1 to Indonesia in a row in the 2023 Asian Cup and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian zone.

These two 0-1 defeats were then followed by a humiliating result in Hanoi with a landslide score of 0-3, which resulted in Troussier’s dismissal.

Troussier always had difficulties when dealing with the Indonesian national team. However, the French coach admitted that the Garuda squad is now of much better quality than Vietnam.

He even said that the Indonesian national team now has up to 20 top players. Compared to Vietnam, which only has two top class players, Garuda is superior in everything according to Troussier.
