Former NFL Defensive Back Vontae Davis Found Dead at 35

Former NFL defensive back Vontae Davis was found dead in his grandmother’s Florida home.

The one who wore the colors of the Miami Dolphins (2009 to 2011), the Indianapolis Colts (2012 to 2017) and the Buffalo Bills (2018) was only 35 years old.

Law enforcement indicated that this was not a criminal act and that an investigation was underway.

Davis was selected in the first round (25th overall) by the Dolphins in the 2009 draft. In 121 career games, he has 395 tackles and 22 interceptions. He also scored a touchdown.

The little brother of former NFL tight end Vernon Davis received two Pro Bowl invitations, in 2014 and 2015. He retired in the middle of his first game in a Bills uniform in 2018.
