Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias faces five charges in an alleged domestic violence case.

This is what a spokesperson for the Los Angeles city attorney’s office told TMZ on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old man faces one charge of assault and battery, two charges of domestic assault, one charge of forcible confinement and one charge of assault.

Urias was handcuffed last September while attending a Major League Soccer match with his wife at BMO Stadium.

It appears the couple had an argument after the gunner took photos with female admirers. At one point, Urias allegedly slammed his lover against a fence and pulled her hair.

The athlete then spent part of the night in a prison in the Californian megalopolis. He was released after posting $50,000 bail. He is due back in court next May.

The Dodgers placed Urias on administrative leave upon his arrest and he became a free agent over the winter. No major baseball team offered him a contract.

This is not the first time that the pitcher has found himself in hot water for a story like this. In 2019, he was involved in an incident at a Beverly Hills mall. He was suspected of having hit a woman who accompanied him. The alleged victim, however, told inspectors that she had simply fallen.

Urias was not charged in the case, but Major League Baseball suspended him 20 games for violating its domestic violence policy.
