Former Bayern Executives Surprise with Public Congratulations for Team’s Victory

This statement was not to be expected!

Bayern beat Arsenal 1-0 and booked their ticket to the semi-finals of the Champions League. Such an important victory after missing the Bundesliga championship! While the Bayern stars around coach Thomas Tuchel (50) are celebrating their success, a former boss suddenly speaks out: Hasan Salihamidžić (47)!

A surprising occurrence, as Salihamidžić had recently kept a low profile and not spoken out publicly.

Now he particularly congratulated coach Tuchel, whom he had brought in as Nagelsmann’s successor as ex-sports director in March 2023. Under Tuchel, Bayern celebrated the last-minute championship in Cologne, but on the same day (May 27, 2023) the record champions announced their separation from bosses Salihamidžić and Oliver Kahn (54).

Otherwise, Salihamidžić tends to hold back on Instagram. After leaving Bayern in May 2023, he made a statement (including: “Even though I’m leaving with a heavy heart, I respect the supervisory board’s decision and wish only the best for FC Bayern in the future!”).

At the beginning of January he posted a few photos from his skiing holiday in South Tyrol. But he didn’t share anything more with his followers.

Kahn also congratulates Bayern!

Former boss Oliver Kahn (54) has now also spoken out. He explicitly congratulates coach Thomas Tuchel.

Kahn writes on “X” and “Instagram”: “Congratulations, FC Bayern. I am particularly happy for Thomas Tuchel, who led the team to the semi-finals of the Champions League with clever tactics. The title is now within your grasp!”
