The 38-year-old German Onur Cinel, who has already managed the Red Bulls’ UEFA Youth League team, has been released from FC Liefering for the final weeks of the ADMIRAL 2nd league season. He will lead the Red Bulls to the championship final before returning to the cooperation club.

After FC Red Bull Salzburg’s request, it was immediately clear to me that I wanted to support the team, so I am very grateful for the trust they have shown. Now I’m looking forward to getting to know the players and staff better and being on the pitch with them. We have to form a strong unit within the shortest possible time and need the highest possible level in every training session and in every game so that we can achieve the club’s desired goal.

After the development of the last few games and a thorough analysis of the sporting situation, we have come to the conclusion that we need to give the team new impetus for the championship finish. We are putting all our focus and concentration on staying at the top of the table and bringing the Bundesliga championship title back to Salzburg. That’s why from now on we’re focusing exclusively on the future and are looking forward to doing so together with Onur Cinel, who will be our head coach for the rest of the season. Onur is a proven expert, which he recently demonstrated as coach of our cooperation club FC Liefering. He also knows the way we want to play football, which is another reason for this solution.
