FC Bayern, rumor: Two clauses in Alexander Nübel’s new contract

Alexander Nübel extended his contract with FC Bayern until 2029 last week. The new agreement states that the keeper will also be loaned out to VfB Stuttgart for the next two seasons – i.e. until 2026 – with whom he will most likely compete in the Champions League next season.

As Sky reports, the contract also contains two exciting clauses: Bayern can order Nübel back as early as the summer of 2025 and would not have to compensate VfB financially for this. Manuel Neuer’s contract in Munich expires in 2025. If the long-time number one ends his career or moves to another club, FCB could immediately install Nübel as his successor.

The second clause includes a further automatic extension of Nübel’s contract if FC Bayern actually doesn’t bring him back until 2026. In this case, the collaboration would be extended until 2030 – and FCB would have tied its new number one to the club for at least four years.
