Shortly before the end of the season there will be another real hit on free TV. Even if the title has already been decided, it is still about the runner-up position.

Munich – The 2023/2024 Bundesliga season will go down in history. For the first time in eleven years, the championship does not go to FC Bayern. Thanks to an outstanding season, Bayer Leverkusen was able to secure the title under what is probably the most sought-after young coach in the world at the moment, Xabi Alonso.

Bundesliga championship, but the fight for the international places is still open

And although first place has already been determined, there are still a few decisions left to be made. In addition to the DFB Cup final and the European competitions in which the fight for a place in the semi-finals is taking place this week, there is still a lot at stake in the Bundesliga for the remaining teams.

On the one hand, the runner-up position is still open: FC Bayern and VfB Stuttgart are currently tied for second and third place in the table (63 points), and their lead over fourth-placed Leipzig (56 points) is already seven points. In fifth place, which currently only brings participation in the Europa League, is Borussia Dortmund with 56 points.

Champions League final in Munich: FC Bayern and VfB Stuttgart are fighting for the premier class on free TV

Depending on how the German teams perform internationally, they could still qualify for the Champions League with fifth place. Nevertheless, fifth place should not be the goal of Munich or Stuttgart. Especially since the final of the 2025 Champions League will be played in the Allianz Arena in Munich. If the Reds miss out on the premier class, it would be a disaster.

To the delight of the fans, the southern clash between FCB and VfB will be broadcast live on free TV on May 4th. Sat.1 shows the top game of the 32nd matchday and reports from 3 p.m. VfB’s home game against the record champions can also be seen in a live stream on Joyn and ran.de. Thanks to the current starting length, it will probably not be a boring fight for the “Golden Pineapple”, but rather another exciting fight for second place and the Champions League.

The broadcast is part of a cooperation between the Seven. One Entertainment Group and Sky Deutschland. The agreement covered four live games in 2022/23 and 2023/24. It now ends with the encounter between Stuttgart and Munich. (md with dpa)
