NBA playoffs preview: Play-in predictions, first-round series guide
The Celtics, despite winning 64 games and boasting one of the top scoring margins in NBA history at +11.4 per game, are not receiving enough recognition as a top contender for the championship. Their past struggles in the playoffs may be why it is difficult to find those who believe in Boston, but this season presents an opportunity for the Celtics led by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to silence any doubts.
Based on my previous predictions, I believe the Warriors will face off against the Lakers. In this scenario, I am inclined to pick Los Angeles even though the Warriors have beaten them three times before. However, the games were closely contested and the Lakers were without Davis in their last meeting. Considering the importance of this game and the home court advantage for the Lakers, I believe they have a slight advantage. I am also not completely confident in predicting the Warriors to win twice on the road and eliminate the Lakers from playoff contention. It seems more like a 50-50 chance if we have a Lakers-Warriors matchup, but the Lakers have a more favorable path to the playoffs as they have two opportunities to secure a spot.
