Exciting Results from the Penultimate Day of the European Badminton Championships in Saarbrücken

The competitions of the penultimate day of the European Badminton Championships currently taking place in Saarbrücken, Germany, ended today. Lots and lots of Denmark in the running, but also lots of differently predictable news coming from today’s events.

First, the mixed doubles final: Gicquel and Delruenumber 2 on the scoreboard, manage to overturn the prediction against the Danish couple Christiansen/Boje and give a victory that will only please France, in view of Paris 2024.

In the men’s singles, however, Toma Junior Popov lands the shot again in a French key, eliminating the super favorite of the tournament, the Dane Viktor Axelsen and preventing him from playing the derby with Antonsen. For women, however, it will be all a Spanish-Scottish discussion between Marin and Gilmour.

The men’s doubles, however, will actually propose a Danish-only affair with Astrup/Rasmussen on one side and Sondergaard/Toft on the other. The women’s issue is very different, with the Bulgarian Stoeva challenging the French Lambert and Tran.
