Examining Potential Trades for Phoenix Suns: Kevin Durant and Jusuf Nurkic on the Radar

The most radical solution would be a Durant trade, but the options are limited here as the 35-year-old would only be interesting for a win-now team. So you could get a few picks and possibly solid players again, but the market for KD would probably be very limited. Ironically, both criteria would apply to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but this reunion will not happen.

It is more likely that the trio will get another season and Phoenix will look for more suitable role players. Nurkic had a solid season, but he’s not the type of center this team needs. Allen, on the other hand, cannot be traded again until October after his extension and the only remaining player who doesn’t just earn the minimum would be Nassir Little, who wasn’t even in the rotation in the playoffs.

So if Phoenix wants to change things up, Durant and Nurkic are the names to watch, otherwise there will be little the Suns can change. But maybe that’s even a good thing to actually bring something like consistency to the team. Durant is still an All-NBA player and Booker is just entering his prime. The team may still be thin on the ground, but there is at least a remaining chance for improvement, even if the Western Conference continues to be relentless next year.
