European Cup Success: Jolina Reinhold and Charlotte Nettesheim Shine With Medals

Jolina Reinhold (TSV Abensberg – BY, -57 kg) is still on the hunt for medals and, with the victory in Berlin, has secured a good starting position for the nomination for the international highlights of the year. After five fights she is the winner and repeats her success from the previous week in Teplice. Within a month she has now won bronze and two golds at European Cups as well as silver in Bad Blankenburg – an impressive achievement.

Also Charlotte Nettesheim (JC 90 Frankfurt (Oder) – BB, -48 kg) has a similar record. In the first fight she only needs ten seconds to win. She also wins the other fights confidently. The semi-final would have been a repeat of her final in Bad Blankenburg, where she won gold. However, the Dutchwoman Indy Pannegitter gave up due to injury. In the final she then lost to the Frenchwoman Lalla-Dounia Lahrifi and, after two bronze medals in the last European Cups, she now wins silver.

Maximilian Koh Gruber also won silver in the class up to 55 kg and Konstantin Distel in the class up to 81 kg.

Maximilian Gruber (JC 71 Düsseldorf – NW) wins five fights very confidently with Ippon and is therefore in the final. There he has an advantage of two penalties over his opponent Jan Kolondra from Poland, but is thrown by him at the very last second and loses with Waza-ari. In Bremen he came fifth and now he wins silver, his first European Cup medal this year.

Konstantin Diestel (JC 66 Bottrop / NW) now wins his third medal within a month. After the silver medal in Porec and gold in Teplice, there is now another silver medal. He wins four fights and only has to bow to Ali Gazimammadov from Azerbaijan in the final. With this silver medal he consolidates his first place in the world rankings and has recommended himself for further international tasks with very consistent performances.

The bronze medal wins Henry Röder (JC Jena – TH) in the class up to 73 kg. He wins four fights, but then has to bow to the eventual winner Noah Boue from France in the semifinals and then wins bronze in the small final against his teammate Yoshiya Laleike.
