Erik ten Hag walked away from the press conference after the match against Bournemouth (2-2) on Saturday evening. The Manchester United coach was asked whether he was afraid it would be the worst season in the club’s history. Ten Hag did not want to respond to this, after which he left the press room irritated.

Manchester United lost points in the competition for the fourth time in a row. When visiting Bournemouth, they fell behind twice, thanks to goals from Dominic Solanke and Justin Kluivert, but were saved twice by Bruno Fernandes.

After the match, a press conference took place in which Ten Hag was asked about his club’s position in the rankings. Manchester United currently sit seventh in the Premier League, equaling the Reds’ worst ever finish.

When asked whether it would be Manchester United’s worst finishing position ever, Ten Hag did not want to respond. “No comment,” was all the 54-year-old Haaksberger had to say. Immediately afterwards he disappeared from the press room. It is still unclear whether Manchester United will continue with Ten Hag as head coach after this season.
