Dynamo on the ground, the big goal of promotion lost, the coach fired: How do you deal with this in the season finale?

Tom Zimmerschied (25) focuses on the Saxony Cup semi-final on Wednesday (8:20 p.m./live on MDR) in Zwickau.

“This game is very important in the current situation, you have to be honest,” says the winger.

What he means by that: In order to at least qualify for the financially lucrative DFB Cup, Dynamo Dresden almost has to win the Saxony Cup.

Only fifth on Wednesday?

The first four teams in the 3rd league are also qualified for the first round of the competition. But based on the latest results and performances, it is at least highly doubtful whether the team can still do that.

The fact is: If a team wins the catch-up game between Saarbrücken and Essen on Wednesday, it will overtake Dynamo. And Dresden would only be in fifth place.

That’s exactly why the big tremors in front of the FSV are now announced. A tricky premiere for the interim coaches Heiko Scholz and Ulf Kirsten!
