Djokovic Breaks Federer’s Record: 36 Years and Still on Top of the World Rankings

36 years and 321 days – that’s how old Djokovic is now. Nevertheless, the 24-time Grand Slam winner remains at the top of the world rankings.

Federer’s record stood for six years; the Swiss set the old record – at 36 years, 10 months and 16 days – in 2018.

In total, “Djoker” was at the top for over 420 weeks, longer than any other professional ever before.

Djokovic took the lead in the world rankings for the first time on July 4, 2011. Now, almost 13 years later, he is once again leading the table.

Alexander Zverev best German

While most of the top stars were preparing for the Masters in Monte Carlo (April 6-14) last week, there was little movement in the top 10 of the world rankings.

Djokovic is followed by Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz in second and third place. The best German professional Alexander Zverev is in fifth place.

Only Hubert Hurkacz, who won the preparation tournament in Estoril, Portugal, was able to improve by two places to eighth place. The Norwegian Casper Ruud, however, swapped places with the Pole and slipped to tenth place.

Iga Swiatek remains the undisputed number one among women. The best German is Tatjana Maria in 66th place.
