Detroit Pistons Look to Jon Horst for a Turnaround as President of Basketball Operations

The Detroit Pistons are reportedly interested in hiring Milwaukee Bucks general manager Jon Horst as president of basketball operations.

Michigan-born Horst, who won the Executive of the Year award in 2021 when the Milwaukee Bucks won the championship after trading for Jrue Holiday, had his first NBA job with the Pistons.

The Pistons, who completed the season with a 14-68 record, announced on Monday that they would hire a basketball operations manager who will report to team owner Tom Gores.

The team also stated that general manager Troy Weaver, who had a 74-244 record in his four years with the team, and the basketball staff will continue their duties.

The Pistons, who broke an NBA record with 28 consecutive losses last season, have not been able to qualify for the playoffs for the last five seasons.
