Daniil Medvedev Discusses Big 3 and Tennis Style Ahead of Masters 1000 Match Against Gaël Monfils

While he will face Gaël Monfils for his entry into the competition at the Masters 1000 in Monte‐Carlo this Wednesday, Daniil Medvedev gave a long interview to the Russian site Sport Express in which he talks about the Big 3 and the player he is closest to.

“I never had an idol or favorite tennis player, because I always wanted to win my way. I respect Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, Andy Murray enormously. I grew up watching them play. But if I had to pick one stylistically, I would say that, in some ways, I’m closer to Novak when he was younger. I think his tennis is different today than it was at the start of his career.
