Dangjin Elementary School’s badminton team (director Byeong-chun Lee, coaches Jong-min Oh, and Byeong-in Jeon) won the 2024 National Badminton Championships (elementary school), showing off the nation’s best skills. The 2024 National Badminton Championships (Elementary) was held in Seocheon-gun, Chungcheongnam-do from March 29 to April 4.

Dangjin Elementary School’s badminton team consists of a total of 10 players, including 6th graders Jang Seo-hoo, Yoo Seung-hyuk, Yoon Jin-ho, Hong Joo-chan, Jeon Seung-woo, and Kim Woo-seok, 5th graders Kim Ye-jun and Jo Yu-jun, and 4th graders Kim Jun-hyung and Choi Young-woong.

In particular, Dangjin Elementary School’s badminton team achieved 9 consecutive wins in elementary school team competitions at national competitions, starting with the 2022 National Interscholastic Badminton Championships (Hwasun) and winning this year’s competition.

Meanwhile, Dangjin City is sparing no effort in fostering and supporting badminton as an elite sport representing Dangjin. It is solidifying its position as a representative city of badminton by operating the Dangjin City Hall badminton team as a business team, as well as elementary, middle and high school student athletes.
