Criollos beat Leones in the BSN

On Sunday, the victory went to the visitors Criollos de Caguas, who took over the home of the Leones de Ponce with a final score of 81-72. A match that was always led by the visitors, winning three of the four sets of the game. Caguas had an advantage at one point by up to 11 points, however, with three minutes left in the last period the Leones de Ponce were down by just one point, 70-71. Since then, the Criollos went on a streak of 12 points versus only 2 for the Lions until the game ended. Caguas was more efficient on offense and had four players with over ten points, including a huge game from their backup Travis Trice. One of the keys to the night were the errors, the Lions finished with 19 that turned into 21 points for the Criollos.

Travis Trice was the player of the game, finishing with 26 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists, Louis King and Akil Mitchell finished with 14 points each. Jahvari Josiah was the fourth player to finish in double figures, scoring 11 points. For the Lions, Jezreel De Jesús was the best scorer with 18 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Followed by Jared Ruiz who finished with 12 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists and Jordan Murphy with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The Leones de Ponce is the only team that has not yet achieved a victory in the campaign.

For tomorrow, Monday, we have a double day, the Santeros de Aguada (2-3) will host the Indios de Mayagüez (3-1) and will seek to defend their home after losing the last match against the Indios on the road. For the second match, we have the Carolina Giants (2-3) hosting the Quebradillas Pirates (2-3), both teams looking to accumulate wins to climb the standings.
