The children’s and cadet judokas of the Costa Teguise Judo Club have an exciting weekend ahead of them as sixteen of them, being part of the Lanzarote team, are attending the 2024 Canary Islands Judo Championship for Children and Cadets.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 6, at 10:30 a.m., at the Miguel Ángel Díaz Molina Pavilion in Puerto de la Cruz, on the island of Tenerife.

The Lanzarote team will leave on the same Saturday, the day of the competition, returning to the hutch island around 8:30 p.m. on the same day.

The sixteen judokas of the Costa Teguise Judo Club will be led by two of their instructors, Alejandro Medina and Mercedes Doblado, and arrive at the Tenerife event after having obtained the passport in the 2024 Insular Judo League School Games held in the City Pavilion Deportiva de Lanzarote last Friday and, previously, participating and offering a more than worthy role as part of the Canarian team in Santiago de Compostela in the “XVI Trofeo Cidade de Santiago”.

The president of the club, Antonio Ramírez, wants to “congratulate the judokas of the Teguiseño club who have now come to give their all in the great goal of the season for their quarry, the Canary Islands Championship in Tenerife. I wish them all the luck in the world because they have prepared hard just for this moment. I am convinced that they are going to enjoy themselves and that they will come with more weight in their suitcases because of the medals that they are going to get on the Tenerife island in honor of Lanzarote and its club, the Costa Teguise Judo Club.”
