Borussia Dortmund and return campaigns: This has happened again and again over the past ten years. Be it Nuri Şahin, who returned from Real Madrid, Shinji Kagawa from Manchester United or Mario Götze from FC Bayern.

There has been a long discussion about whether BVB will also bring Chris Führich back to Borussia. The now 26-year-old has not yet played a game for the Dortmund professionals, but has appeared 24 times for the second team. He is currently playing for VfB Stuttgart and is attracting attention with seven goals and seven assists and even became a national player this season.

But according to “Sport Bild”, Dortmund’s chances of signing the winger are not good, as BVB has well-known competition from FC Bayern. According to the weekly magazine, it is clear from the player’s environment that Führich has already decided to move to FC Bayern.

BVB probably has no chance with Chris Führich

The contractual situation of the right foot is therefore quite clear. Although his contract with VfB runs until 2028, an exit clause allows him to leave early for 23.5 million euros. Bayern seem willing to pay this amount.

In addition to Führich’s own decision to prefer Bayern over BVB, the transfer fee would probably be the next hurdle for the Dortmund team around sports director Sebastian Kehl. According to the “Sport Bild” report, Borussia would first have to sell players in order to be able to make large investments. At the same time, reinforcements in the central and full-back positions are located higher than in the offensive, in which Führich plays.

And although Dortmund will not be able to welcome Führich as a new player, the BVB bosses should be happy about a move for Führich in the summer. Because as “Sport Bild” now reports, Dortmund will also cash in if Führich leaves VfB.

BVB would cash in if Führich were to change

Accordingly, in 2021, when Führich came to Stuttgart from Paderborn, it was agreed that the two most important support clubs – Dortmund and SC Paderborn – In the event of a resale, ten percent less the transfer fee paid at the time (2.5 million euros) would be divided between them.

This agreement seems strange at first glance, but is not entirely surprising. Führich was on loan to Paderborn from summer 2020 to 2021, the East Westphalians then exercised a purchase option and sold the offensive player to Stuttgart just 18 days later. Within a very short time he was under contract with three clubs, which is why BVB will certainly have insisted on the clause.

In the event of a move that would cost 23.5 million euros thanks to the clause, the two clubs would be entitled to 2.1 million euros. Everyone would then be rewarded with just over a million euros.

Bayern’s long dominance has been broken. After eleven Bundesliga titles in a row, there has been a new German champion since Sunday, Bayer Leverkusen. The Werkself also won this title for the first time in their history. This created very special emotions for the fans.
