Champions League: German football is still here

Two German clubs, Bayern and Dortmund, are in the semi-finals. Some dream of a new Wembley. But things are different today than they were back then.

It was a big quarter-final in the Champions League. Four close duels, all exciting until the final whistle, 32 goals and a penalty shootout. Great weeks for the German fan too. For a long time it was said that the Bundesliga was losing touch internationally. Because there are no sheikhs or similar investors because the biggest stars play elsewhere.

There are now two Bundesliga teams in the semi-finals; this was last the case four years ago. The chances are not bad that Dortmund and Bayern will play the winner in a German final at the end of May. At Wembley of all places, like in 2013.
