Time for the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup, from Saturday April 13. With three French representatives still in the running, starting with La Rochelle, double title holder.
Winners by a whisker in Cape Town (South Africa) against the Stormers on Saturday (22-21), the Rochelais will be entitled to a “classic” next weekend against the Irish from Leinster. A clash played at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Saturday at 5:30 p.m. This will be the fourth confrontation in five years between these two teams, including two finals.
Union Bordeaux-Bègles, impressive on Saturday against Saracens (45-12), will find other English with Harlequins in its Chaban-Delmas stadium. The last French representative, Stade Toulouse, will host the English from Exeter at Ernest-Wallon on Sunday April 14. Finally, in the last poster, the English club Northampton will host the last South African team still in the running, the Pretoria Bulls. The latter defeated Lyon on Saturday afternoon (59-19) in the round of 16.
In the event of qualification, Toulouse and UBB will face each other in the semi-final, on May 3, 4 or 5. If Stade Rochelais escapes from the Irish trap, it will face the winner of Northampton-Bulls at home. The grand final will take place on May 25 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
