Chamartín’s Escoladas 2024: A Celebration of School Sportsmanship and Olympic Values

Between yesterday and today, the nine sports disciplines that make up this competition were held in different facilities in the district.

Yesterday and today, more than 700 students from 5th and 6th grade of Primary Education, enrolled in 13 schools in Chamartín, have participated in the district’s Escoladas 2024, a competition for schoolchildren that is governed by the values ​​and spirit of Olympism and that It is organized by the Madrid City Council.

Yolanda Estrada, district councilor, inaugurated this edition yesterday at the Pradillo Municipal Sports Center, where the badminton, chess, basketball and indoor soccer events took place and today she closed it with the presentation of the medals and trophies to the winners and the recognition plaques for all participating schools: the CEIP Arquitecto Gaudí, Luis Bello, Padre Poveda, Ramiro de Maeztu and San Juan de la Cruz and the Cardenal Spínola, Claret de Madrid, Corazón Inmaculada, Fundación Santamarca, Nervión, Santa Catalina, Willoughby and Wisdom. At the closing there was no lack of parade of participants, as happens in the Olympic events.

“In two days you have lived many experiences to remember, but the most important thing is that you do not forget the values ​​of sport, not only the benefits it has for health, but also what it means for education in values ​​such as effort, teamwork or the desire to improve,” Estrada told the participants.

Starting on April 26 and until June 1, the young athletes who have won in their respective districts will participate in the Escoladas 2024 final that will open next week at the Vallehermoso Stadium and will close with the awards ceremony. at the Aluche Municipal Sports Center. /
