Casper Ruud Advances to Semifinals at Monte Carlo Masters Tournament

Casper Ruud reached the semifinals at the Masters tournament in Monte Carlo.

However, the Norwegian needed three sets against Ugo Humbert – 6:3, 4:6, 6:1 was the final score.

After losing the second set in the decider, Ruud managed the important break to make it 2-1, then he fended off two more chances to equalize for the Frenchman and pulled away.

For Ruud, it’s in the semifinals against Novak Djokovic – who had previously won against Alex de Minaur after a break festival in the second round.

Will there be something more for Ruud this time? So far the direct comparison is 5-0 for Djoker, who is back in his tried and tested form after his weak start to the season in Monte Carlo.

Jannik Sinner and Stefanos Tsitsipas will contest the other semi-final. Sinner won against Holger Rune on Friday, Zverev’s conqueror Tsitsipas was successful against Karen Khachanov.
