Carla Martinez Shines Again at SMOC Badminton National Tournament

Already a double winner (in doubles) of the Plumes d’Orléans in January, Carla Martinez did it again this weekend during the first SMOC Badminton national tournament, which brought together nearly 400 players. A great success.

SMOC treated itself to a royal platter for its premiere! Four members of the French Top10 and a slew of “elite” players responded, attracted by the attractive bonuses promised to the winners (€7,000 announced). And among them, Biterroise Carla Martinez (21 years old), 5th French player, who scored a double in women’s singles and doubles.

The other “elite” titles were won by the favorite Simon Baron-Vézilier (n°8) in singles, by the pair Germain/Lefèvre in men’s doubles (as in Orléans too) and by the Orléanais Léa Maroto and Bastien Chailloux in mixed . Impressively skilled, the CLTO players created a nice surprise in an open table. Despite the challenge, and the cramps too, the Orléanais offered themselves their greatest success together. And a nice check…
