Byzantine Archers Shine at “45 Spring Tournament”

The outdoor season of the Byzantine Archers comes to life as on Sunday 14 April they faced their first plate type competition (70-60 m round), the “45 Spring Tournament” organized by the ASD Arcieri Faentini, immediately achieving 4 podiums.

Gold medal for Marcello Tozzola for OL MM with a score of 636 (322+314). Gold medal also for Riccardo Venturi for the CO JM with a score of 659 (326+333). Good result for Angela Padovani who climbs to the top step of the podium in the MF Arco Nudo category with a score of 528 (246+282).

Again for bare bow, Simone Pizzi won silver with a score of 597 (296+301), very close to his personal best.

Also competing was Sabrina Bandini (making her debut on the “targa”) who came 4th with 487 AN MF, Massimo Venturi 5th with 542 AN MM and Giancarlo Casadio 23rd with 403 OL MM.

Also on Sunday 14th in Bondeno (FE), the first stage of the “X Quadrangolare Andrea Bertolino” was held, a race dedicated only to youth classes and played on 36 arrows and direct clashes. Two young Byzantines competing. Nicola Barlotti sixth after the qualifying phase with a score of 286 gains access to the direct clashes. Having easily passed the quarterfinals 7-3, he was stopped in the semifinals 2-6, winning the final for bronze. Final win once again 7-3 over Boggian Riccardo of the Asd Malin Archery Team.

Nicola then won the bronze medal in the Men’s Boys Olympic Arch Overall category.

Diego dalla Costa was also present and ranked 10th with a score of 223 and was unable to access the matches.

The outdoor season of the Byzantines was inaugurated on March 24th with the “6th H&F Tournament of Faenza” followed by the “25th Hunter & Field of the Delta” in Ostellato on April 7th.

Three podiums were achieved by the yellow and red team: twice gold medal for Marcello Tozzola in the OL MM category and silver medal for Angela Padovani in Ostellato in the AN MF category.
