On the attack, the Indians took off from the start of the match, after scoring twice in the first round, the Bon-Encontraise attack added 9 points in the second round and took a 10 point lead over the locals, then adds 5 points in the 3rd round then again 5 times in the last round. The Indians hit 17 hits in this first game, and won this first game with a score of 21-8.

In the second game, Thomas Biremont took control for the Indians on the mound.

Back to back after the first round where the two teams scored twice, the Bon-Encontrais took a lead in the 2nd round, scored 4 points in attack and conceded none thanks to a good round from the young pitcher who eliminated 3 opposing batters out of 4 faced. In the 3rd round the Indians added 5 points before conceding 3 in defense, to lead 11-5 before attacking the last round. The Bon-Encontrais had a little scare in this last round, failing to worsen the score, and sent Didier Berger again to replace Thomas Biremont for the last round.

The locals will have a burst of pride, taking advantage of a relaxation of the Indians’ defense, to score 4 times, and fill the bases.

It was finally Baptiste Pourcel who replaced Didier Berger to finish this match and close the door to the locals, despite the pressure, to seal this second with a score of 11-9 for the Indians.

Note the good offensive performances of Baptiste Pourcel 3 hits in 5 passes, Morgan Caillavet 3 for 6, Laurent Blasco 2 for 2, Nicolas Papy 2 for 3, Thomas Biremont 2 for 3 and special mention to Luis Rjas Cuicas (Venezuelan) 5 for 7 and Michel Goulesque 7 for 8.

Sunday April 21, the Indians travel to Pineuilh to face the Pitcher’s, freshly placed second in Pool A after two victories against the Angles of Périgueux and the Razorbacks of Brive.
