After six games without wins or goals, the “what” mattered more than the “how.” Alvarado needed to win. How he managed it, this time, was a secondary question.

With much more attitude than game, and with opportunism to exploit a rival error, he achieved it. Belinetz, after stealing a ball from Cravero at the start, scored the only goal and took his team out of intensive care. After, Alvarado beat San Miguel 1-0 in a match corresponding to the thirteenth date of Zone A of the Primera Nacional.

The visiting team was a little more in a definitely strange first half. San Miguel dominated the field and the ball in several passages. He set conditions with the permanent transition to attack by Antunes and especially Grance, the two full-backs. And with the mobility and skill of Nahuel Rojas, difficult for Alvarado’s midfielders to control.

There were several approaches from Coleoni’s men, who also gained a lot from above in the rival area. And the overflows and centers that did not find a destination by centimeters.

However, Lungarzo only had three saves: a shot from Batallini and a header from Ferrero that went to his body and a dangerous cross from Luján that was closed and that he had to deflect with a slap.

Alvarado, having less of the ball and with less attractive resources, was more dangerous. San Miguel’s defense had a terrible time with long balls. At 6′, after a rejection, Guillermo Sánchez beat a weak coverage by Rentería with his body, eluded Pucheta and, with the goal line covered by three rivals, kicked over the crossbar. Three minutes later, after another hit by the ball, Belinetz reached the bottom and put the center back and Sánchez himself, on the line of the six-yard box and without a goalkeeper, could not connect well and threw it out. Two huge chances and with very little.

In the rest of the first half, the Mar del Plata team suffered due to its difficulties in defending the sides and its lack of fluidity in handling the ball. To the point of making his faithful lose patience.

However, when the first half was dying, Cravero got tangled up to come out from the back, Belinetz stole the ball from him, faced Pucheta and beat him with a powerful right cross to end the malaria and establish the 1-0.

The goal brought Alvarado a few minutes of peace after the restart. He grouped himself better and the counterattacker’s clothes fit him much better. At 8′ Mansilla made a good pass to Belinetz, but this time Pucheta covered the required definition of the “9” in the one-on-one.

San Miguel accused the blow. And he was only able to resume the role after a quarter of an hour, also helped by the unconscious local decline.

Rojas appeared more to lead his team. Gradually, he began to pile up work on Lungarzo’s desk again. The goalkeeper deflected a point-blank header from Antunes and blocked a shot from a low angle to Rojas at the near post.

However, the solidity of his defensive teammates made his task a little easier in the final quarter of an hour. And together they secured an indispensable victory.
