Jakarta – Spanish club Atletico Madrid secured a place in the 2025 Club World Cup through the European ranking slot.

Reporting from the official FIFA website, Wednesday, Atletico Madrid is certain to be able to compete in the 2025 Club World Cup after Barcelona was unable to catch up on points to represent the European zone.

Even though Diego Simeone’s team failed to advance to the semifinals of the Champions League after losing to Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona’s defeat to PSG ended Barca’s hopes of competing in the new format of the Club World Cup.

The competition, with a new format of 32 teams, will take place in the United States during June and July 2025. The 32 teams are clubs from each of the six confederations.
