Max Verstappen and Red Bull have once again imposed their law in Suzuka. For the fourth consecutive year, the Dutch driver has been the fastest in the classification of the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix and has achieved his 36th Pole in Formula 1.
Red Bull’s dominance has been confirmed once again with the second place for Sergio Pérezwho was only 66 thousandths behind his teammate in an exciting classification in Suzuka. Lando Norris will start third on the grid, ahead of the two Spaniards Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso, separated by 4 thousandths.
“I didn’t expect to be so high up, four tenths away from pole,” celebrated Alonso, who has squeezed the improvements to the maximum which Aston Martin has introduced this weekend in its AMR24 car, although Fernando himself has acknowledged that his return in Q3 has been “above my possibilities.”
