Alexandre Texier breaks his record for goals in a single season in the NHL

The Columbus Blue Jackets, already eliminated from the race for the play-offs, lost to the Nashville Predators (6-4) – who are qualified – on Saturday in the NHL regular season. Despite this defeat, Alexandre Texier, the French striker from Columbus who was playing his 200th match in the North American league (in the regular season), stood out by scoring the second goal for his team (see below).

After opening the scoring, the Blue Jackets took the water, conceding four goals. Then, in the second period, Texier reduced the gap for his team, after getting away from the Predators defense and winning his face-to-face with the opposing goalie.

14 of the 16 qualified for the play-offs known

The French player (one of two to play this season in the NHL with Pierre-Édouard Bellemare in Seattle; Pierrick Dubé returned to the AHL after three matches with Washington) scored his 12th goal of the year, breaking his record personnel (11 in 2021-2022). He also scored his 30th point. This is the first time in his career in the North American pro league (started in 2019) that Texier has reached this mark.

While the franchises still have one to three regular season matches to play, 14 of the 16 qualified for the play-offs are already known: Boston, Carolina, Florida, New York (Rangers), Tampa Bay and Toronto in the Eastern Conference, Colorado, Dallas, Edmonton, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, Vancouver and Winnipeg in the West.
