Things got hotter in the evening – at the Player’s Party in the VIP tent!
On stage, alongside his Davis Cup colleague Jan-Lennard Struff (33/ATP No. 28), he announced on the microphone: “I would like to win the tournament.” It would be the third time for the Hamburg native after 2017 and 2018.

Tennis star Zverev: declaration of love to his Sophia!
Zverev: “The last few years haven’t been the best. But I am now in a different form than last year.” In 2023 he was eliminated in the second round – a very bitter defeat.
Things were still going really smoothly for the 2021 ATP Finals champion in training, but despite the rainy weather he feels comfortable in Munich before his start to the tournament on Wednesday.

Both came arm in arm onto the red carpet at the players’ party on Monday evening. The presenter (including RTL) beamed alongside her athlete friend. She had him throw (love) darts at a dartboard and just looked at it herself.

He’s in love with her: “We’ve been together for almost three years, it’s wonderful.” A declaration of love at the start of the BMW Open!
In addition to the German home fans, Zverev also sees a private advantage in the Munich tournament in the 250 category (250 ranking points, then 500 from 2025): “With our schedules and the lives we have, it’s nice to be at home sometimes to find some peace together. If we continue to do this together for the next few years, that will be very nice!”

Also at the opening party of the tournament: the semi-finalists of Germany’s Next Top Model, actor Wayne Carpendale (47) with his wife Annemarie (46), ex-goalkeeper Jens Lehmann (54), Marko Pesic (47/director of FC Bayern Basketball) and Singer Leony (26), the interpreter of the song for the European Football Championship. She gave another concert later in the evening.
Dominic Thiem (30) was also at the party – despite his first-round defeat (4:6, 4:6) against Spanish qualifier Alejandro Moro Canas (23). The Austrian came with his girlfriend Lili Paul-Roncalli (25/artist, author), the daughter of Roncalli co-founder and circus director Bernhard Paul (76).
