All ready for 21st “Peter Pan Trophy”.
Sunday 7 April the “Tomita Judo School” will welcome approx 250 little judokasready to challenge each other on the tatami under the solidarity motto “I fight for you who fight”. The appointment is from 8.30 am to 1 pm at PalaLuiss – Via Martino Longhi in Rome.
Coming from ten judo clubs from all over Italy, approximately 250 little judokasaged between 5 and 11, will participate in what has now become an unmissable meeting in the capital with supportive and inclusive sport, promoted by the Tomita Judo School, with the patronage of the Lazio Region and the Department of Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of the Municipality of Rome.
For the first time also judokas over 65
From 10.30, in the spirit of the new European research project Joy – Judo connecting Older and Younger Generation, performance by judokas over 65 for an inclusive exchange of intergenerational techniques with the little ones. Among the participants, led by maestro Simone Ciaccioni, will be Licia Talatin, Black Belt born in 1940.
The spirit of solidarity of the event
Like every year, the spirit of the event, which over the years has seen the participation of over 6000 children, has little to do with competitive spirit and a lot to do with solidarity: participants will fight to help their friends who are experiencing a moment of fragility in the disease, those children and young people affected by cancer who fight for their lives every day.
In particular those who, together with their families, stay in the homes of the Peter Pan odv Association which offers them free hospitality and assistance during their stay in the capital for treatment in Roman hospitals. The contributions made available by the ten participating judo schools will be donated to the Peter Pan Odv association.
The organization, in a note, thanks the Luiss Guido Carli University which renewed the free concession of its spaces.
