Young Puerto Ricans Secure Victory in U15 Pre-World Baseball Tournament

The Puerto Rican team secured victory in the sixth U15 Pre-World Baseball tournament by defeating the Dominican Republic with a score of 5-4 in the final game.

In a match full of emotions, the young Puerto Ricans managed to take advantage of key errors on the part of the Dominican defense to turn the score in their favor in crucial moments of the game. Despite the efforts of the Dominican Republic to come back at the end of the seventh inning, Puerto Rico maintained its advantage to take the victory and the championship title.

In addition to the gold for Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic took the silver medal, while Mexico took the bronze after beating Nicaragua. These four nations, along with Venezuela, qualified for the U15 Baseball World Championship to be held in Colombia in September.

As for individual awards, Alfredo Sena of the Dominican Republic stood out by taking five awards, including most valuable player. Other individual awards included best pitcher, defensive player and top run scorer, among others.
