Wienroither was back in the squad for the first time in the Arsenal win

328 days after tearing her cruciate ligament, Laura Wienroither was back in the match squad for the top English women’s soccer club Arsenal on Sunday for the first time. The 25-year-old right-back was not substituted for the Londoners’ deserved 3-1 away win at Aston Villa. The Upper Austrian sustained the injury on May 1, 2023 in the semi-final second leg of the Champions League against Wolfsburg. Manuela Zinsberger guarded the Arsenal goal as usual.

Arsenal remain in third place in the Women’s Super League table, with five rounds to go and are six points each behind Chelsea and Manchester City.
