Western Conference Playoff Race Intensifies as Houston Rockets Surge Forward

Until a couple of weeks ago everything seemed ready for sentencing. The Lakers and Warriors were in a good moment and those who were behind did not stop losing games, something that led to the 10 teams that would compete in the playoffs (and play-in) in the Western Conference seem more than defined. However, that panorama has changed enormously in recent times.

While the two Californian teams have been alternating victories and defeats, one of the pursuers – exactly the Houston Rockets – has stepped on the accelerator to the point of achieving six consecutive wins – eight in their last ten games. Such a trajectory has meant that with a balance of 33-35 they are only 2.5 games behind Golden State and 3.5 behind the Angelenos. Yes, it is still a distance, but nothing that cannot be overcome in the remainder of regular season in the NBA.

After crushing the Wizards 114-137, Houston now has three home games against the Chicago Bulls, Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers. If he is able to take them out, he could get fully into the battle and really scare some of those mentioned, since they do not give any guarantees when they take the field.

And while the results have improved significantly in Texas, the one who has also taken a big step forward is Jalen Green. After being criticized for much of the course, the young Rockets player has improved his performance to the point that last night he equaled the best scoring mark of his career with 42 points, also leaving behind actions as spectacular as this one.

«I have had moments in which things were going well and others in which everything was complicated. My main goal is to continue to take advantage of the good streaks and be as consistent as possible, so I can affect the game in many ways even when I am not so good shooting, “explains Green.
