We suppressed negativism with the win, believes Hašek. But he considers the criticism to be justified

Czech football coach Ivan Hašek wants to see all the other players in action in Tuesday’s friendly match against Armenia, who did not play in Friday’s March opening match in Norway.

He stated at the press conference that he does not underestimate his opponent in any way. The 60-year-old coach is happy that he will experience a renewed home premiere at Letná in Prague, where he previously worked for Sparta as a player and coach.

“It is the last match before the Euro nomination, so I will want to see everyone who is here. I would like everyone who is nominated to appear on the field. All the players from the nomination are available,” said Hašek.

“We will start in some formation. In the last game we made some mistakes in that some players are used to a different formation. But we have to adapt to the fact that we have little time. The Euro squad will only have 20 players (in the field), so some will have to alternate in other positions,” added Hašek, who already led the Czech national team as a temporary coach in five matches in 2009.

In his renewed debut with the Czech national team, he celebrated a 2:1 victory in Norway on Friday after a turnaround.

“We showed it to each other, we analyzed it. We explained things that sometimes stemmed from too much effort and some not playing in their positions. The strength of this team is that guys learn quickly. That’s our advantage that they will definitely learn from it,” Hašek said.

“Typologically, it will be a different match than in Norway. Our game will also be a little different, maybe even the formation will be different. Every opponent is different. We are preparing for this opponent so that the players know what to play,” he added.

He does not underestimate Armenia in any way. “They are an unpredictable opponent. You can’t say they are a weak opponent. When you win 4-2 in Wales, you have quality. We have seen them. There are players who play in interesting leagues, a lot of them are very well developed individually . We have to be extremely careful. When they get the ball, there is a quick transition to attack,” Hašek pointed out.

“If you look at their results, they don’t score many goals, they are compact at the back. It will definitely not be easy to get there. It is definitely not a foregone conclusion. We will have a lot of young players on the pitch, we will need the help of the spectators. I believe they will help us to They defeated Armenia,” said Hašek.

The renewed home premiere awaits him at the Letná stadium, where he spent most of his playing career in Sparta’s jersey and then also started there as a coach.

“I’m glad that we can be here. It’s been almost three years since the national team returned to Sparta. I’m happy that I can be here, I feel good here,” said Hašek.

The game could be sold out. “I am personally happy that there is a positive atmosphere both in the team and within the football public, not any negativity. I would like to pass it on, but of course it depends on us how we will play. Some criticism (after Norway) was of course justified, but I think that we suppressed a certain negativism with the victory,” added Hašek.

On Tuesday, he will decide on his team’s remaining opponent in the European Summer Championship group. Portugal and Turkey will be joined by the winner of the play-off final between Georgia and Greece.

“I think Georgia will be very uncomfortable. I think they are not favourites, it’s 50/50. Whoever of them advances, it will not be an easy opponent for us. They have played very good matches recently. I am focusing now on Armenia and right after “We will start to deal with our opponents after the match. We have an observer there, of course, who will analyze it,” said Hašek.

After the match with Armenia, the national team will play only two preparatory matches before the Euros at the beginning of June.

“I believe that we have now selected players who are in shape at this moment. It is not a definitive squad, they are players that we carefully selected based on their current performance. But there is still a lot of time left before the Euros,” Hašek said.
