Unforeseen Outcome: Baki Chamsoudinov Victorious in Controversial Fight Against Cedric Doumbè

An outcome far from the height of the event. This Thursday evening, at the Accor Arena, the fight between the two undefeated fighters Baysangour ‘Baki’ Chamsoudinov and Cedric Doumbè ended in blood sausage. Embarrassed by a piece of glass in his foot at the start of the third round, Cédric Doumbè asked permission from referee Marc Goddard to remove it. But he decided to end the fight, and give a technical knockout to Cédric Doumbè, leaving Baki the winner.

First of all, it was a great misunderstanding that spread throughout the Accor Arena. Transformed into a cauldron sprinkled with VIPs, the room had successively intoned the names of the two fighters during the first two rounds. However, it was Cédric Doumbè who seemed to have won over the crowd when he entered, making “Baki, you’re dead” echo throughout the hall.

A revenge soon?

But the first round quickly reshuffled the cards. Taken to the ground several times by Chamsoudinov, the former kickboxing champion had to use his wrestling defense qualities as rarely before. However, Doumbè seemed to try everything to encourage his opponent to play standing, adopting a hunched posture, head forward, and barely dodging jabs.

But the very lively fight of Baki, sure of his strength, prevented Doumbè from developing his boxing qualities in the first round, clearly in favor of the fighter of Chechen origin. The second was rather to the advantage of ‘The Best’. Benefiting from the progressive fatigue of his opponent, Cédric Doumbè managed to land several shots in the face. And if the third round was ultimately cut short far too early, and the victory given to ‘Baki’ after a misunderstanding between Doumbè and the referee, the two fighters have already said they are up for a promising revenge.
