TV rights: M6 announces the acquisition of the 2026 and 2030 World Cups

Eighteen years after the 2006 Football World Cup, M6 will cover it again during its next edition and its new formula (48 teams compared to 32 previously), organized from June 11 to July 19, 2026 in the United States. United States, Canada and Mexico, as announced by RMC. Nicolas de Tavernost, boss of the channel until April 23, announced it Thursday morning on RTL but specified that his group had also acquired the 2030 edition of the World Cup, organized in Morocco, Spain and Portugal.

M6 could nevertheless still sign sub-licensing agreements with other broadcasters such as France Télévisions and TF1. Otherwise, the latter would not broadcast any World Cup matches for the first time in its history.
