Toronto Blue Jays Opening Lineup Includes Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, and Daniel Vogelbach

Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement and Daniel Vogelbach all succeeded in their mission to be in the opening lineup for the Toronto Blue Jays to kick off the new season.

Toronto manager John Schneider confirmed the news on Sunday.

Aged 25, Davis Schneider played 35 games last season with the Jays. He posted a .276 batting average with eight home runs and 20 RBIs. However, he struggled during training camp this spring with a .171 average.

Quite the opposite for Clement who has shone since the start of camp. He posted a .356 average and eight RBIs. In 2023, the infielder hit a home run with a .380 batting average in 29 games.

Vogelbach, for his part, signed a contract for an invitation to Jays camp and the power hitter convinced the organization with three home runs in 13 games. Last season with the New York Mets, he hit 13 long balls and drove in 48 runs in 104 games.
