Top National Basketball Academies to Clash at VI Under 13 Tournament ‘Ciudad de Vera’

The best national basketball academies, such as Real Madrid Baloncesto, Barcelona Básquet, Joventut de Badalona or Unicaja Baloncesto, will meet in Vera from May 2 to 5 during the celebration of the VI Under 13 Tournament ‘Ciudad de Vera’ that It will take place in the town’s Blas Infante Pavilion.

This competition is organized by the Unión de Pueblos del Levante Almeriense Basketball Club (CB UPLA), and promoted by the Vera City Council, the Provincial Council of Almería, the Unicaja Foundation and Baloncesto Andalucía.

The vice president and deputy of Sports, Healthy Living and Youth, José Antonio García; The Councilor for Culture and Heritage, Sports and Youth of the Vera City Council, Antonio Jesús Soler, and the president of CB UPLA, Rafael Franco, have outlined the details of this year’s tournament.

“From May 2 to 5, Vera will become the national capital of grassroots basketball with the celebration of this tournament that is in its 6th edition. We must highlight the importance of promoting sports at school age. Thanks to this tournament we will be able to enjoy the best youth of our basketball thanks to this important tournament with some kids who represent the future of this sport in Spain,” stated José Antonio García.

For his part, the Veratense Sports Councilor has shown his satisfaction with the celebration of a new edition of this competition and has explained that “the importance of hosting this event not only lies in sports, but also in the tourist field since they will be Many families travel to the municipality to enjoy its sports facilities and everything it offers such as an excellent climate. “This tournament places us as a benchmark for national grassroots basketball.”

This year the men’s under 13 basketball teams participating in the ‘Ciudad de Vera’ Tournament, from May 2 to 5, are: Real Madrid Baloncesto, Barcelona Básquet, UCAM Universidad, Real Betis Baloncesto, Unicaja Baloncesto, Juventud de Badalona, Next Hoops and the host, CB UPLA.
