Thiem’s wrist is causing problems again

Dominik Thiem has shed some light on the matter after withdrawing from the Challenger tournament in Naples. The damaged wrist is causing problems again, said the Lower Austrian in an Instagram post.

“Unfortunately before the Challenger in Hungary my wrist reported again. These ‘clicks’ in the wrist started to happen again, like when I was injured. The strange feeling coupled with slight pain came back,” said Thiem.

In addition, a small inflammation had now developed, which made it impossible to compete in Naples on the advice of the doctors.

But the compulsory break should only be short. Thiem wants to play again on April 1st in Estoril. “But I am on the mend and have been training with reduced volume this week. I hope I’m ready for Estoril. The plan is for me to compete there,” said Austria’s former number one.
