The Atlético Madrid player mocked comments made by former players debating his status on a TV set.
Injured and forced to skip the Blues’ friendly matches against Germany this Saturday and next Tuesday against Chile, Antoine Griezmman is taking advantage of the international break to heal. The 2018 world champion also had time to notice on social networks that he was at the heart of a debate in Australia on the Octus Sport channel.

Several guests debated the status of the offensive player who is having a magnificent season with Atlético Madrid. Mark Schwarzer, former Chelsea goalkeeper and especially Jay Bothroyd, who was a player at Wolverhampton were not kind to the Mâconnais. “Honestly I like him a lot but why hasn’t he succeeded at a bigger club if he is so good?”blurted out the latter. “When I watch him, I see him wandering between the lines. You can definitely jog on the field, but it’s the high-intensity runs that count.he added.
Not all speakers shared the same opinion, fortunately, regarding the world-class player. Amused but undoubtedly a little piqued by these criticisms, Griezmann then had fun taking part in the debate by commenting on the sequence on X: “They don’t know anything about football”reacted the Colchoneros star who must have appreciated Jay Bothroyd’s correction a little later on the same social network: “Man, we were just provoking Phil Kitromilides (another speaker who defended Griezmman, Editor’s note). You are a top player”.
