National coach Michael Kohlmann firmly believes that Germany’s top player Alexander Zverev will one day celebrate a Grand Slam triumph. The 26-year-old Olympic champion is now entering his “prime tennis age,” Kohlmann told the “Donaukurier”: “That’s why he will be one of the extended favorites at every Grand Slam and will also win his first Grand Slam title at some point.”
The title in the Davis Cup is also a big goal for Zverev, Kohlmann added: “And we’ve all been pursuing that for 31 years now.” From September 10th to 15th, the German team will play in Zhuhai, China, for a place in the knockout round in Malaga. Zverev had promised him that he wanted to be there, said the 50-year-old head coach of the German Tennis Federation (DTB).
