The Port Authority of Cartagena has formalized in its board of directors its intention to build a new pipe rack from the Escombreras dock to Los Camachos, whose work will be divided into three phases.

Regarding this, the vice president of the port authority, Pedro Pablo Hernández, has explained the intention of “the objective of building a new pipe rack from Escombreras to Los Camachos is to provide a solution to the lack of logistics land and we want to continue being a reference in liquid bulk in the Spanish port system with better infrastructure and services that allow us to continue leading this type of traffic and promote the traffic of the future such as green hydrogen or ecofrio.”

In addition, more port investments are also contemplated and a budget of 42 million euros spread over four years is planned. “By 2025, we want to begin feasibility studies and technical projects, once it is approved by State Ports,” Hernández announced.

This project falls within the framework of the 2025-2029 investment plan to which the board of directors has given the green light at its meeting today. Now, the Port Authority of Cartagena will transfer it to State Ports for final approval and inclusion in the Business Plan.
