He suffocated the victims by tightening his arm around their necks, causing them to pass out, and then robbed them. The technique used in the discipline of judo was used at least twice by a 37-year-old of Cuban origin who was arrested by officers from the Porta Maggiore police station in Rome. The man is being investigated for two robberies that were committed using this system at the beginning of March.

The man attacked his victims from behind and, after blocking them with an arm around their neck at the level of the carotid artery, caused them to lose consciousness and robbed them. By the time the victims regained consciousness, he had already fled with what he could take with him.
