Jean-Louis Gasset won his first five matches at the helm of Olympique de Marseille. Unheard of in 62 years at the Marseille club.

If he came as a firefighter on duty, Jean-Louis Gasset is indeed writing a small page of history at Olympique de Marseille. Facing Nantes on Sunday at the end of the 25th day of Ligue 1, OM won their fifth match in a row (2-0) since Gasset was coach. Never has an Olympian coach started with five victories since 1962.

It was then Otto Gloria, Brazilian coach who had only spent four months at OM. It was in the second division, and Gloria had participated in Marseille’s rise to D1. OM are currently 7th in Ligue 1, three points behind Lille, 4th. Gasset, 70 years old and successor to Gennaro Gattuso on February 20, could make the six pass at Villarreal on Thursday (6:45 p.m.), in the round of 16 second leg of the Europa League. The Olympians crushed the Spaniards in the first leg last Thursday (4-0).
