The condolences of the football world for the death of Joe Barone: the farewell on social media

(LaPresse) Joe Barone, general manager of Fiorentina, has died at the age of 57. He was hospitalized on Sunday in intensive care at the San Raffaele in Milan following an illness suffered before the Viola team’s match against Atalanta on Sunday evening. “With deep pain and immense sadness, Fiorentina today loses one of its points of reference, a figure who marked the recent history of the Club and who will never be forgotten” reads the note from the Viola club. But there are many messages of condolence that have arrived from the world of football and beyond. The mayor of Florence, Dario Nardella, and the Tuscan governor Eugenio Giani also expressed their sorrow at the passing of the Italian-American leader. From Inter to Milan and Juventus from FIFA president Infantino to the Football League, everyone wanted to remember Barone. All the Serie A clubs as well as the Lega Calcio had a thought for the Italian-American manager. The memory of the president of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, was also moved.
