The Adidas Arena: A New Venue for Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games

This stadium, located at Porte de la Chapelle in the 18th arrondissement of the capital, will host several Olympic and Paralympic events for the Paris 2024 Games.

The inauguration of this space took place in February. The Adidas Arena is the only infrastructure to have been built intramural specifically for the 2024 Olympic Games.

In front of the Arena, an esplanade bears the name of Alice Milliat, to pay tribute to this pioneering figure of women’s sport.

“The Arena is an opportunity for our neighborhood, for the 18th arrondissement and for our neighbors in Seine-Saint-Denis. There has never been a project of this magnitude for the Porte de Chapelle,” said Ezzedine Masmoudi, president of the Paris Sport Culture football club, to the City of Paris. The sports leader is “impatiently” awaiting the 2024 Games.

With 8,000 seats, the Adidas Arena will host the badminton and rhythmic gymnastics events of the Olympic Gamesas well as those of para badminton and para weightlifting of the Paralympic Games.

A sports construction committed to ecology

The construction of the Adidas Arena is part of an environmental approach: its insulation was made from recycled cotton and its seats made from plastic waste. On its roof, there is a green space of 6,000 square meters.
