Thanasis Antetokounmpo may be one of the most mocked players in the NBA because of his skill on the court, but what people don’t necessarily know is that he analyzes and understands the game like no other. In his excellent podcast, he gave his opinion on Victor Wembanyama.
When basketball fans dislike a player, they can be quite cruel, even violent, in their comments. If Killian Hayes no longer has this problem since he was released by the Pistons, there are others who still have to deal with mockery on a daily basis. This is particularly the case for Thanasis Antetokounmpo on the Bucks side.
For many Internet users, if he is in the NBA at the moment, it is simply because his brother wants him by his side and leaves no choice to the leaders of Milwaukee. Nobody talks about his possible influence in the locker room, nor about his way of maintaining a certain level of demand on the pitch, everyone focuses instead on his inglorious highlights.

As several of his former teammates have explained, if Thanasis Antetokounmpo is still in Milwaukee, it is because he has a huge understanding of the game and therefore serves as a relay between the coaches and his teammates. He also displays his knowledge in his excellent podcast, and during the last episode, he gave his opinion on Victor Wembanyama:
He’s so big… Seeing him battle against Giannis was special. It was one of the most memorable matches of the season. It’s funny, but the comparison that comes to mind for their duel is “King Kong vs Godzilla”. The whole meet was an athletic test, a test of agility. What makes Wemby special is the way he moves his body. It’s balance in everything he does. His dribbling is good, but it’s the way he executes that takes it to another dimension.
When he does his behind-the-back dribble before dunking on Brook Lopez, it’s almost impossible to do! When I saw that I understood that he was playing on instinct. I love seeing another Afro-European be among the best players on the planet and establish themselves in the United States. He played with my brother Kostas in France, so I had the chance to discover him when he was still Victor. I saw a very humble and hardworking boy. I know that the French have their own way of thinking and doing things, but he takes everything very seriously.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo knows Victor Wembanyama from his ASVEL days, so he is not surprised to see him so good in the NBA. He highlighted his knowledge of movement, but also his desire to work. A laudatory analysis.
